Carbon Tripod Classic 160

The prerequisite for perfectly sharp photos and videos is a stable tripod. A tripod can significantly improve image sharpness even for relatively short exposure times. A stable tripod is a must-have, particularly for photographing with long exposure times and telephoto lenses.

The DÖRR Carbon Tripod Classic 160 combines robust stability with high flexibility, comfort and ease of use. The tripod legs are made of 8 layers of high-quality carbon. Carbon is well known for its excellent properties. It absorbs shocks and vibrations, is highly stable and weighs very little. You will quickly come to appreciate its light weight, especially when out and about, at sporting and other events and when travelling.

The tripod can be assembled in seconds and just as quickly disassembled, ready for transport. The tripod legs can be continuously adjusted to the desired height by giving a quarter turn on the practical twist-locks, up to a maximum height of 160 cm.

For a secure stand on uneven ground or sloping terrain, the tripod legs can be locked at three angles. The four-part tripod legs can be folded up completely by 180° and are thus responsible for the compact transport size of just 46 cm.

To prevent damage to sensitive floors such as parquet when shooting indoors, the feet of the Classic 160 are made of soft rubber. These rubber feet can be removed to reveal metal spikes for non-slip grip on forest paths, meadows, football fields and all natural outdoor floors.

For certain photographic tasks, such as sports and action shots, a monopod is better suited than a tripod. With the DÖRR Classic 160, an additional monopod is not required. Simply unscrew the tripod leg with the foam rubber grip and, in combination with the tripod plate, you have a fully functioning monopod with a variable height of at least 43 cm and up to a maximum of 132 cm.

The one section centre column can be variably adjusted to the desired height. The base plate is fitted with a rotatable tripod screw with 2 threaded connections: a 3/8 inch thread for mounting a tripod head (optionally available from DÖRR). Cameras can be screwed directly onto the 1/4 inch thread, for use without a head. To turn the tripod screw, unscrew the base plate.

For close-up and macro photography, the centre column can be completely rotated. This and the widest spread angle of the tripod legs allows you to place your camera close to the ground.

In windy and stormy conditions, the tripod can be further stabilised by shifting the centre of gravity of the tripod downward by adding a weight. There is a hook on the bottom of the centre column for this purpose. You can hang your photo bag, backpack or other items there for even more stability.

For storage and transport, the tripod comes in a sturdy tripod bag with a shoulder strap. The bag size is designed so that the tripod fits in the bag even with a ball head mounted.
